Assistant Principal Message

Assistant Principal

Greetings,

I am pleased to introduce myself as your assistant principal. I am LaVonda Williams, and I come to you with 14 years of service as a Vance County Schools educator. I am married to Frank, and we have three amazing children; Trinity, Noah, and Luke. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Olive University. I recently graduated from NC State University, earning a Master's in School Administration.

As a career teacher, I taught Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten at Carver Elementary School. In addition to teaching, I served as a school Testing Coordinator, Afterschool Coordinator, School Improvement Team chair and member, and Beginning Teacher Mentor. I have participated in many opportunities to grow as a leader. I enjoy presenting information to teachers to provide them with quality information that they can use to impact their students. As a teacher, I participated in the Teacher Executive Leadership Institute and was named Carver's Teacher of the Year in 2013 and 2021.

My motto is: All students are willing and able to learn; we must be willing to teach them.

Your Partner in Education,

LaVonda Williams
